ABOUT TITI
Meet the chef behind YummyTecture
Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a culinary artist. The ingredients called to me and something clicked every single time I walked into a kitchen.
I had an undeniable love for preparing, cooking, and baking, but also a passion for decorating anything and everything edible. Upon graduating high
school, I knew I was destined to go to culinary school, but right before I went to college, I lost my sister.
Tolulope was studying Architecture, she loved it, and she was really good at it. A little while after her passing, I was sitting in her room, going through every drawing, every building model, and the tons of architecture books she owned and then it dawned on me that I could keep her dreams and memories alive.
As a tribute to my sister, I decided to help her achieve her dream of getting a degree in Architecture. I calculated and figured it would only take a few years, then I could go to culinary school.
Things unraveled much differently from what I had imagined and a few years into Architecture school, I had fallen in love with the art of designing spaces and buildings people could enjoy. I still had a deeper love for food art and one of my school term projects was to study the relationship between Food and Architecture! Simply the best. That was a memorable project.
Upon graduating from Morgan State University with a Degree in Architecture & Urban Development, I had the great privilege of working in an amazing Architecture firm (Waldon Studio Architects) where I worked for about 6 years before Attending Johnson & Wales University where I obtained my MBA.
Although I never did study Culinary Arts, the passion I had combined with the skills and precision I learned from Architecture have all been a huge contributor to the Cake Decorating Artist I am today.
I believe God’s grace, passion, dedication, and hard work have helped me to achieve the signature details required to create the cakes and desserts that I make today as the owner and creative director at YummyTecture Dessert LLC. Above all my most important role is being wife and mom to 3 amazing boys.
YummyTecture Gives Back
Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and other treats to families impacted by the critical illness of a child.
The organization’s goal is to create a custom cake for the ill child, or their sibling, that provides a temporary escape from worry and creates a positive memory during a difficult time.
YummyTecture is a dedicated partner with Icing Smiles and we had had the privilege of delivering our cakes to children here in Dallas for the past 5 years.
We also donate treats and sweets to other local charities or organizations locally to help feed the hungry.
